The opportunity to extend the site came about as plans were being developed for use of neighbouring land by a local school into a running track and the areas environmental group FAUNA were also developing plans for land use.
Had these plans gone ahead without making changes to the allotments we would have lost the ability to turn vehicles on the plots, making manure and other deliveries very difficult.
We also had (and still have) a huge waiting list of up to 6 six years so the chance to add some new plots had to be pursued.
